After the rows, the next part is adding the long sashing in between each row. This part is actually very easy. It’s merely of matter of aligning everything properly. Hopefully, you are a little more careful then I. I managed to cut three of my strips wrong and had to redo it. Otherwise, this part is really easy.

First, place the sashing in between the rows and position them where you want them, see Figure 1.1. Make sure there is enough extra sash so that the strip is longer than the rows. Without this, you may run out of sash before you reach the end of the row.

After they are all positioned, place the sash on top of the row, right sides together, see Figure 1.2. Sew a ¼“ seam and press out the sash so the row and sash are facing the opposite direction when pressed, see Figure 1.4.
When you are done with all of the rows, your top and bottom row won't have any sashing on them. Instead, the entire quilt will have a border around it of the same fabric instead. With all the sashing completed, we are on to the next step of the quilt-the final piecing.
